There’s an interesting bit of rock n’ roll trivia associated with Joan Lobell that I stumbled across many years ago while reading David Bowman’s excellent book on the history of The Talking Heads, “This Must Be The Place” (pages 27-29 & 30-31). Apparently, she was David Byrne’s live-in girlfriend for a short time in the early seventies. 1973, if I’m not mistaken…which is pretty close to the time that this fake wedding announcement was published.
